Spring will be here soon and as the warmer weather heads in, it’s time to start thinking about getting your outdoor areas ready for the season, and that includes your outdoor railings.

If needed, make necessary repairs.
Glass railings are desirable for their sleek, modern look and for providing unobstructed views of spring and summer landscapes. Just as you would refresh your outdoor landscaped areas, which may include having your home windows washed, it’s also recommended to clean your railings, whether all aluminum, all glass or a combination of both.
Here are some simple tips to get your railing sparkle-ready for the season.
1) Using a non-abrasive cloth or sponge to avoid scratching both the aluminum and the glass, wash railing and glass with a mixture of warm water and liquid dish soap.
2) If there is extra debris or dirt in the corners or under the handrail, use a soft brush with the warm soapy water to clean away.
3) For stubborn stains, like bird droppings, cooking oils or heavy dirt buildup, use a stronger solution like an ammonia-based glass cleaner, or a 1:2 ratio of apple cider video and water.
4) Rinse the railing with clean water to remove excess soap.
5) Wipe with a soft cloth or squeegee to avoid streaks or water stains.
6) Keep a squeegee on hand throughout the season for quick wipe downs after a rainfall to avoid water spots being left behind on the glass.
Following these simple tips will maintain your railing, and continue to make it look look clean and sparkly all season long.
